Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permitting

Weston was originally retained to assist a chemical industry client with the renewal of their Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permitting (TPDES) permit. During the permit process, Weston became a technical resource during a tumultuous period, which included facility expansion, a lawsuit against the company, and new client personnel responsible for wastewater compliance acclimating to their role. Weston prepared a TPDES application for the 2,500-acre complex with 20 production units. Weston coordinated with multiple stakeholders during the permitting action, including facility personnel, the client’s legal team, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority. Weston continues to provide on-call consulting services for wastewater compliance as the client makes changes to their operations to ensure the conditions of the Agreed Order are met in full.
