Fraud Blocker Ana Asencio - Weston Solutions

Ana Asencio

Hometown/home base: My hometown is Henderson, TX, and I currently live in Austin, TX.

Years at Weston: 1 year and 10 months

Education: I earned my undergraduate degree in University Studies from East Texas Baptist University (ETBU), followed by a Master of Business Administration. As a first-generation college student, I entered college without a clear roadmap or guidance at home, which made the experience both challenging and transformative. I completed my bachelor’s degree in 3 years and was later offered a position at the university, where I was able to pursue my master’s degree. Throughout my time at ETBU, Hispanic mentors played a meaningful role in encouraging me to choose a degree path that offered flexibility and long-term opportunity.

Current role and experience: As a Recruiting Coordinator, my role goes far beyond managing logistics and partnering with hiring teams to identify the right fit. I also support recruitment efforts across the organization by building meaningful connections with candidates and guiding them through each step of the hiring process, from initial conversations and interview coordination. What I enjoy most is connecting individuals with opportunities where their unique skills and strengths can truly make an impact, while also setting them up for long-term growth and success at Weston.

Beyond recruitment, I am actively involved in internal initiatives that reflect Weston’s commitment to its people, including the Project Managers in Training (PMIT) Program and the Employee Energizer League (EEL). The PMIT program is especially meaningful to me because it demonstrates the company’s investment in developing its employees and cultivating future leaders. It embodies Weston’s commitment to promoting from within and supporting career advancement over the long term.

Through my involvement with the EEL, I have the opportunity to help tell Weston’s story and highlight what makes our employee-owned culture unique. The EEL has played an important role in strengthening awareness of employee ownership and reinforcing the sense of shared purpose that defines our organization.

Career Path: My career path has always been rooted in my love for people. I am naturally driven to grow and learn, especially when that growth allows me to better support others. Recruiting felt like a natural fit because it gives me the opportunity to build meaningful connections and help individuals find roles that truly resonate with who they are. I believe everyone brings unique value, and I am passionate about connecting people with opportunities that not only align with their skills, but also with their goals, values, and what matters most to them.

Employee Ownership: Being part of an employee-owned company truly shapes how we show up each day. There is a shared sense of responsibility and pride that makes the work feel more meaningful and connected to something bigger than us. What I value most is the collaborative environment at Weston. Everyone genuinely wants to see one another succeed, because we understand that when one person grows, it strengthens the entire organization.

As an employee owner, I’m motivated to show up with intention and accountability, knowing that my efforts directly contribute to Weston’s success. That mindset creates a ripple effect, when each of us perform well in our roles it reinforces trust, teamwork, and collective progress. It encourages me to collaborate thoughtfully, support my colleagues, and approach my work with the understanding that our success is built on helping one another thrive.

In recruiting, I’m intentional about sharing this culture with candidates. Weston is deeply collaborative and ownership-driven, and when individuals succeed in their roles, it directly impacts the success of the company as a whole. That sense of shared purpose is what makes being part of Weston so meaningful to me.

Leadership and Growth: I am intentional about surrounding myself with strong leaders, both professionally and personally, who inspire growth and offer meaningful mentorship. I actively seek opportunities to learn from their successes as well as their setbacks, using those experiences to sharpen my perspective and continue shaping my own leadership style.

One of the most influential values instilled in me during my college experience was the concept of servant leadership. That philosophy deeply resonated with me and continues to guide how I approach my work each day. I have learned that I am most effective when I focus on supporting the needs of others and creating the conditions for my team to succeed, because I feel most fulfilled when I am able help those around me do their best work.

This mindset has also shaped how I recognize strong leadership in others. The leaders who inspire me most are those who genuinely care, lead by example, and intentionally work to lift others up. Seeing that kind of leadership in action motivates me to work harder and reinforces the belief that shared success is built through trust, service, and collaboration.

Inclusion and Community: I strongly believe that no one is meant to go through life alone, personally or professionally. We thrive in community, and while that comes naturally to some, others may need encouragement and support to feel confident and safe in those spaces. I see inclusion as creating environments where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to participate. Whether at Weston or in my community, I make it a priority to get to know people, understand their perspectives, and foster a sense of belonging wherever I am.
