(Weston) is proud to announce that we have been awarded a prestigious 2024 Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award by Esri, the global leader in GIS. This recognition was conferred during the Esri User Conference, which took place from July 15-19, 2024, in San Diego, California.
The SAG Award acknowledges organizations and individuals that use GIS to solve some of the world’s toughest challenges. Weston developed a novel data management framework using enterprise geospatial techniques to expedite a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Remedial Investigation involving multiple media across 21 sites. This framework allowed our team to adapt to the dynamic and complex regulatory environment of PFAS and helped our field team make informed decisions in near-real time based on field operations and existing historical data.
Weston used the ArcGIS Enterprise Geospatial Platform to centralize and spatially-enable operational data and make it accessible in the field through an interactive geospatial web viewer. By leveraging this platform, Weston empowered stakeholders with (1) real-time mobile data collection through map-based applications, efficiently streamlining field operations and capturing accurate data instantly, (2) one-click access to soil boring logs eliminating the chance for possible error, and (3) a dynamic analytical search tool providing decision-makers access to all analytical results and plume distributions across the sites. Building upon the scalability and repeatability of this framework approach, Weston has adopted this solution as our standard approach on all projects, driving efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
