West Chester, PA (October 19, 2023)— Puerto Rico is struggling with a severe power shortage due to the devastating impact of hurricane on its electrical infrastructure. This precarious condition has led to inconsistent electricity distribution and frequent occurrences of outages.
In early June of 2023, Weston Solutions, Inc. (Weston) completed the construction, installation, and commissioning of dual-fuel, natural gas generators to supply Puerto Rico with 150MW of power to their Palo Seco Power Plant.
As of October 2023, Weston has installed another 200MW of temporary power at the San Juan Power Plant. The implementation of the temporary power system in Puerto Rico is already proving to be pivotal in stabilizing the energy grid, offering the island a more reliable and efficient source of electricity.
