New executive role makes technology and AI a strategic priority for Weston

WEST CHESTER, PA (October 21, 2026) —Weston Solutions, Inc. (Weston), a U.S.-based, 100% employee-owned environmental and infrastructure services firm, has named Brian Fitch, PhD, as Chief Technology Officer. Brian joined Weston on October 12, 2026, as the first person to hold the role. The new position shows Weston’s commitment to technology as a driver of how the company operates, delivers projects, and creates value for clients.

Brian will lead Weston’s AI and systems strategy, bringing IT and Digital Solutions together under one direction. He’ll start by modernizing the systems and platforms behind Weston’s operations and project delivery so they scale with the company’s growth. From there, he’ll set an enterprise AI strategy that incorporates proven, responsible AI into client program delivery, helping teams move faster, make better-informed decisions, and solve complex challenges in new ways.

“Our clients are facing more complex challenges, and they expect partners who bring modern tools and new thinking to the table,” said Kara Fields, President. “Creating this role is a clear statement that technology is central to Weston’s future. Brian has built AI and digital practices that deliver real results for clients, and he’ll make sure our investments in technology show up in the quality, speed, and insight we bring to every program.”

Brian has more than 20 years of experience leading digital transformation in AI, data and analytics, and enterprise systems. Before joining Weston, he led Barr Engineering’s technology strategy and organization design, grew AI from a pilot system into a firm-wide practice, co-founded a multimillion-dollar digital solutions practice delivering digital twins that help organizations simulate, monitor, and optimize real-world assets, as well as large-scale AI and data projects for clients, and built a governed process for setting technology priorities across more than 220 projects.

“Weston is committed to making technology a real advantage for its people and its clients,” said Fitch. “That means AI and digital tools that are secure, practical, and widely adopted. I’m excited to build that foundation and help our clients benefit from it.”

Brian holds a PhD in Human Factors from the University of Minnesota. The field studies how people adopt new tools and change how they work, and it shapes how he drives adoption of technology, not just compliance. He served in the Minnesota Army National Guard, where he commanded a communications unit during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
