U.S. Small Business Administration Presents AWARD OF DISTINCTION - November 27, 2000

SBA Logo The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) presented its Award of Distinction to WESTON for an exceptional Small Business Program and sustained performance in exceeding the requirements of the Small Business Act in utilizing small business concerns on federal projects.

Joseph May, SBA Area Director for Government Contracting, presented the award and commended WESTON for having an aggressive and successful SB Program, as shown by the outstanding results achieved over the 5-year period. He added that it was clearly indicative not only of management support, but of the support of all involved personnel as well. He recognized President Patrick McCann and Corporate SB Program Manager Tom Irwin as individuals dedicated to implementing and maintaining a highly effective SB utilization program. He expressed his particular appreciation for their support and participation in SBA's own SB outreach programs.

In accepting the award, WESTON CEO William Robertson stressed the importance of the SB community not only to WESTON's business, but to the economic well-being of the country as well.

Tom Irwin stated, "To receive three distinguished SBA awards in one year such as this award, the Eisenhower Award, and the SBA Private Sector Award is an outstanding achievement that could only be accomplished with program managers and procurement personnel committed to mentoring and maximizing opportunities for SB/SDB firms as subcontractors on our projects."
