WESTON has compiled many emission inventories using mass balances, emission factors, test data, theoretical calculations, and other methods.

Complete and accurate emission inventories that provide short-term and annual emission rates of each pollutant from each emission source are needed to ensure compliance with emission standards and permit conditions. Furthermore, emission inventories will be vital in order to properly respond to the new requirements of the CAAA that call for increased corporate liability and emission-based fees.
