Emergency Planning, Preparedness & Training

WESTON provides emergency planning, preparedness, and training services to a wide variety of federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private industry including:

• Planning and Preparedness – WESTON assists clients in facility emergency planning, facility auditing, security special event planning, resource deployment, risk analysis, SOP development, facility hardening, force protection, and security planning.

• Vulnerability Assessments – WESTON conducts vulnerability assessments at a variety of private, municipal, and DOD facilities, including water vulnerability assignments using the RAM-W and other risk assessment methodologies. The goals of these assignments are to provide our clients with a prioritized list of cost-effective recommendations, design, and deployment as part of a comprehensive risk management strategy.

• Training - WESTON audits client operations as part of a needs assessment process, leading to the design and implementation of training and exercises from the national to facility level. We assist our clients by providing recommendations, SOP development, employee training and awareness programs, culminating in table-top and full-scale exercises to evaluate proficiency. Additionally, WESTON has participated in the National TOP-OFF and other multi-agency terrorism response exercises along side several of our federal clients.

Representative assignments include:

• Development of the national standard, Drinking Water Supply Procedures During a Suspected Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Attack.

• Providing in-facility personnel to support infrastructure protection planning.

• Development of the initial guidelines for Debris Removal for Disaster Sites Involving WMD Contamination.

• Preparing readiness planning documents for the various National Security Threat Levels.

• Managing warehouse and management contract(s) for Federal stockpiles of WMD response equipment.

• Drafting universal chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) safety plans for Federal clients.
