WEST CHESTER, Pa., June 1, 2015 –The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded two Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contracts to Weston Solutions.
One is a START IV contract for EPA Region 1 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) valued at $57.2M and the other is a START V contract for EPA Region 3 (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C.) valued at $31.5M. Both contracts are in effect from July 2015 – June 2020 and their applicability spans the other EPA regions or internationally, as deemed necessary.
Under these contracts, Weston will provide emergency response and removal of the discharge or threat of oil, hazardous substances, pollutants, contaminants, and fire/explosion hazards. They will also provide scientific/technical support for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear events as well as site assessment, brownfields, and remedial support activities.
Weston has been an EPA contractor for all ten EPA Regions under 32 separate Superfund contracts since 1982.
