Quality Assurance Program

WESTON's Quality Assurance Manual (QMM) Quality Policy states, "WESTON is committed to the implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system for delivering services and deliverables that meet or exceed client and regulatory requirements and WESTON's quality objectives."

The QMM further describes the need for program- and project-specific plans and procedures. WESTON has developed a Quality Assurance Program (QAP) description for DOE Projects. This QAP Description is consistent with the requirements of:

  • DOE Order 414.1B, Quality Assurance (DOE 2004).

  • Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 830, Subpart A, § 830.120, Quality Assurance Requirements.

  • NQA-1, Quality Assurance Program Requirements for Nuclear Facilities.

WESTON has provided software quality assurance (QA), including audit support, to Waste Isolation Pilot Plant's (WIPP's) Centralized Characterization Program (CCP). The types of software that have been evaluated include:

  • Headspace gas analysis software

  • Non-destructive assay software

  • Radiography software

  • Data reporting software
