DOD
Proven Experience
WESTON has been DOD's partner for over
35 years and has worked on several successful projects, including:
At
Fort Bliss, a $3M expenditure was avoided through an improved
air quality program. WESTON's work at Fort Bliss led to significant
improvements in base productivity and efficiency by transforming
the base's air quality program from a liability into an asset. This
feat was accomplished by placing an air quality expert on-site for
2 years, developing positive and productive relationships with both
local and Federal regulatory agencies, and the discovery that many
of the permits in place were not necessary and could be eliminated.
At
Pease AFB, quick action allowed the base to move to private
redevelopment. WESTON's work at Pease AFB under the U.S. Air Force
Installation Restoration Program (IRP) epitomizes our capabilities
and client service goals. The Air Force often showcases our work
on the IRP as an excellent example of how a closing base can be
assessed and cleaned up for quick conversion to private development.
For
NAVFAC, comprehensive air quality support ensures compliance
with the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA). WESTON has assisted eight
Naval activities in complying with the CAAA by providing field surveys,
emissions inventory development, management/reporting software,
regulatory review, strategic planning, compliance support, Title
V permit acquisition, and agency negotiations.
At
Aberdeen Proving Ground, a perfect safety record enhances
the remediation efforts. WESTON performed 15 remediation projects
at various hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste and ordnance/chemical
surety material disposal sites at APG. Our perfect safety record,
which featured 600,000 safe working hours, is the result of our
expert ability to lead and staff concurrent delivery orders.
For
the U.S. Army, WESTON has been selected to work in partnership
with the U.S. Army to develop a Business and Lease Plan for the
redevelopment of historic former Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC)
and the Beach Pavilion properties at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The
public-private partnership approach is being pursued by the Army
as part of their overall strategy of increased leasing to the private
sector to reduce redevelopment costs, fulfill mission requirements,
and ensure stewardship of historic Army properties.
