WESTON Recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance

WEST CHESTER, PA — February 17, 2009 – Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON^®), a leading environmental remediation, redevelopment, and construction company, took an already award-winning safety performance record and improved it by launching an innovative Behavior-Based Safety Program in 2008.

For the past five years, the company has maintained injury rates at least 85% lower than the environmental consulting/construction industry average, as well as a Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR) that has been at least 56% lower than the average for similar companies.

In October 2008, WESTON received the 2008 Pennsylvania Governor's Award for Safety Excellence. This prestigious award was given to eight Pennsylvania-based companies that demonstrated excellence in the areas of accident reduction, safety program implementation and employee safety involvement. Governor Rendell was quoted as saying, "These award winners recognize that their workers' safety is the number one priority."

Also in October 2008, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, NAVFAC Southwest presented WESTON with a STAR (Safety Through Awards and Recognition) designation for the performance of work recently completed at Mare Island in Vallejo, CA where WESTON surpassed 200,000 injury-free work hours.

Additional accolades came in February 2008 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mississippi Valley Division. WESTON received their 2007 Regional Contractor Superior Safety Performance Award for work at the New Orleans pumping project post Hurricane Katrina. WESTON documented greater than 460,000 man-hours without a lost time incident.
