WESTON Awarded Over $11 Million to Support Department of the Navy’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure Program
WEST CHESTER, PA — October
26, 2009 – The Energy and Navy programs of
Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®)
expanded further in September, continuing development of a rapidly growing global business line supporting facilities seeking more efficient, renewable, and sustainable energy.
WESTON was competitively awarded a firm-fixed
price task order worth over $11 million by the Specialty Center Acquisitions,
NAVFAC in Port Hueneme, CA to furnish and install advanced metering
infrastructure at various locations throughout Naval District Washington.
Work will be performed under an existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity
(IDIQ) multiple award contract in support of the Department of the
Navy’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program.

The Navy’s AMI Program is managed by the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center (NFESC) and it facilitates measuring and analyzing energy usage to reduce energy consumption, and illustrates the Navy’s commitment to achieving aggressive energy efficiency goals. WESTON will design, procure, install and test advanced metering solutions, enabling the cost-effective allocation and management of utilities. WESTON’s state-of-the-art, low-risk and cost-effective AMI solution includes data acquisition systems, communications (wired and/or wireless) networks, and smart meters that collect and deliver information on electric, gas, steam and water usage.
