WESTON's Franz E. (Skip) Koch, PE, named 2006 Engineer of the Year by the Society of Military Engineers - Anchorage Post

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – March 2, 2007 – Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®) announced today that Franz E. (Skip) Koch, PE, a Principal Project Manager with the Company’s Anchorage, AK office, has been named 2006 Engineer of the Year by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Anchorage Post.

A Sustaining Member of the Post, WESTON supports Mr. Koch’s efforts in the community, as he has been an active SAME member for over 30 years of his career. Mr. Koch currently serves on the Board of Directors for the SAME, Anchorage Post.

“I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve SAME and the community in Alaska,” stated Mr. Koch. “This is a unique opportunity for me to combine my professional experience with my military engineering background.”

Mr. Koch served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for over 20 years as a combat engineer, and as the Deputy District Engineer for the Los Angeles and the Seattle Districts Corps of Engineers. Mr. Koch also served at the U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, VA, as a senior staff officer with the 18 th Engineer Brigade, Karlsruhe, Germany. He also served as the Army Liaison to the German Army Staff, Prinz Eugen Kaserne, Munich, Germany.

Mr. Koch holds master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering and Construction Management from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and Boston University, respectively. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alaska and holds a Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification from USACE.
