WESTON Goes 'Green' on the Greens at 6th Annual Child Advocates Golf Classic
WEST CHESTER, PA — September 28, 2011 – Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®), a local leader in sustainable design/build construction, property redevelopment, and innovative water, energy and environmental solutions, joins Support Center for Child Advocates to Go 'Green' on the Greens at the 6th Annual Child Advocates Golf Classic on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Huntingdon Valley Country Club. WESTON is a corporate sponsor for the event and Kathleen McGinty, WESTON Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Strategic Growth will moderate the pre-golf morning program. Titled "Green Building and Environmental Responsibility," sessions will explore design, regulatory, legal, and investment facets of sustainable development and water/stormwater management.
All proceeds from the Golf Classic and pre-golf program will support Child Advocates' Project for Medically Needy Children. This two-part program presented by Cleantech Alliance Mid-Atlantic (CAMA) is eligible for 2.5 Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits and will include local experts on two distinct panels.
Green Building and Development Standards – Discussion will include an up-to-date overview of sustainable building design, regulatory, legal, and financial requirements and incentives with:
- Rob Fleming - AIA, LEED® AP BD&C, Co-founder of Engineering and Design Institute at Philadelphia University
- Brian Phillips - AIA, LEED® AP - Principal I-S Architects, University of Pennsylvania School of Design
- Charlie Szoradi - CEO, GREENandSAVE & LED, a LEED® AP Certified Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor
- Bill Valentine - GPIC Representative, Mid-Atlantic Clean Energy Applications Center
Water & Stormwater Management Best Practices - This timely panel discussion focuses on the challenges and potential technology-based and systems-based solutions of population density and booming natural gas exploration on water and stormwater management systems and practices.
