Linda R. Balcom, P.G. Joins WESTON Redevelopment Division

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — May 17, 2007 – Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®) announced today the hiring of Linda R. Balcom, P.G., as a Development Manager in its growing Redevelopment Division. Ms. Balcom will be responsible for marketing, capture planning, proposal development, and the winning and execution of Early Transfers of Federal Property. As part of WESTON’s Redevelopment Division, Balcom will help combine the company’s expertise in Real Estate, Remediation, Construction and Sustainability into an integrated Team to acquire, remediate and redevelop contaminated properties. In that integration role, WESTON assists communities attempting to remediate and redevelop former Department of Defense (DoD) properties including assisting in the negotiation of Early Transfer Agreements and performing the remediation and redevelopment work in partnership with the community.

Linda’s extensive experience in this area will enhance WESTON’s ability to deliver fully integrated solutions to meet the incresingly complex requirements of Local Redevelopment Authorities DoD service branches, regulatory agencies and other key stakeholders.”

Ms. Balcom is a registered geologist with over 18 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. Her specialty is Base Realignment and Closure facilities with an emphasis on the early transfer process. She has been involved in several Early Transfers including the former Naval Training Center in San Diego, California, the former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, in Puerto Rico and the former Fort McClellan, in Anniston, Alabama.

Linda is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a bachelor’s degree in geological sciences. She is a Registered Professional Geologist in the state of Wyoming. She was Chair of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board in 2001, and is a member of the National Ground Water Association and Society of American Military Engineers. She will be based in WESTON’s Colorado Springs, CO office.
