Intranet Wins Web Business 50/50 Award for Online Excellence
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - July 26, 2000 - Roy F. Weston, Inc. has been named a 2000 Web Business 50/50 Award winner by CIO magazine. The award program recognizes innovative Web initiatives by organizations around the world. WESTON's intranet site (WESTONnet) was selected from hundreds of submissions and is featured in CIO's July 1 issue for demonstrating a keen ability to blend technology and Web site design with the needs of employees and clients.
WESTONnet was developed internally by WESTON's Knowledge Management team, a WESTON Division that helps clients achieve breakthrough improvements by accessing project data, identifying problems, and managing their facilities and systems more efficiently. This translates to minimized risk, lower costs, and higher performance levels for both employees and clients.
William L. Robertson, WESTON's Chief Executive commented, "This Award reaffirms that our Web strategy is working. The on-line solutions offered by our Knowledge Management team provides real-time decisionmaking, improved project execution, and flexible, tailored systems promoting team engagement. With WESTON's Web-based programs we are better able to implement the tactics needed to deliver quality service and good business value to clients."
"The success of WESTONnet confirms our strategic technical direction. WESTONnet has become an integral component of our business operations by providing information more quickly and accurately than ever before. Additionally, the use of Web technologies with our core services allows us to align the interests of our clients, vendors and employees to achieve consistent success on our projects," stated Vincent A. Laino, WESTON's Chief Information Officer.
