WESTON Passes 10-Year Milestone in UXO Safety
West Chester,
Pa. - April 4, 2000 - Roy F. Weston, Inc., a leading
infrastructure redevelopment firm, announced today that
the company has completed ten years of unexploded ordnance
(UXO) remediation work without a safety incident.
"This is quite
an accomplishment and a tribute to our people and safe work
ethic," said Patrick G. McCann, WESTON's president and chief
operating officer. "We have logged thousands of hours of UXO
work since 1990 without any loss of life, serious injury or
emergency situation. Our success has been and will continue
to be based on our high safety and quality performance standards."
The
company also announced it has been designated an Approved UXO
Contractor by the Army's Directorate of Safety, Health and
Environment (DSHE) at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. "We view
this approval as further evidence of our excellent UXO safety
record," McCann said.
The company
has completed over $40 million of restoration work at APG and
was one of the first contractors to use robotic equipment to
identify and stabilize UXO.
