WESTON to Lead Great Valley Walk to Cure Diabetes Campaign

West Chester, Pa. - March 28, 2000 - Roy F. Weston, Inc., a leading infrastructure redevelopment firm, will lead this year's Walk to Cure Diabetes Campaign in the Great Valley area, the company announced today. The walkathon, which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF), is scheduled for September 24th.

"We are challenging all businesses - large and small - in the Great Valley area to join us in making this year's campaign a milestone in the struggle to find a cure for diabetes," said WESTON Chief Executive William L. Robertson, who is chairing the campaign. "Over 16,000,000 Americans have diabetes and more than 1,000,000, mostly children, suffer from juvenile diabetes, the most serious form of the disease. I know from personal experience the difficulties and heartache these children face. It is the success of fundraising events such as this that will hasten the cure we all so earnestly want."

Congressman Joe Pitts (R, PA), a long-time supporter of JDF, visited WESTON earlier this month to help kick off the campaign. "I want to congratulate WESTON for its strong commitment to this important cause. I hope that other businesses will join them in their quest for a cure," said Pitts. Congressman Pitts is also one of the leaders of the JDF Promise to Remember Me Campaign 2000, a grassroots effort that seeks Congressional support for diabetes research.
