WESTON Awarded Worldwide Air Force Environmental Contract
West Chester, PA - May 22, 2001 - Roy F. Weston, Inc. announced today the award of an Environmental Remediation and Construction (ENRAC) contract by the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE), Brooks AFB, TX. Under this contract, WESTON will provide a broad array of remediation and construction services to AFCEE clients worldwide, including containment; monitoring, reduction, removal, and transport; and treatment.
WESTON is one of 14 contractors that will share in the $750 million in total funding expected to be available for the initial five-year base ordering period and three option years. WESTON has the potential to realize up to $100 million in gross revenues over the eight-year life of this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract.
In making the announcement, WESTON President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick G. McCann stated, "This contract holds strategic significance for WESTON--our Air Force remediation work has been growing appreciably and this vehicle will be the one used by our many Air Force customers to procure remediation and environmental construction work worldwide. Additionally, the award of this follow-on contact to our current Remedial Action Contract (RAC) demonstrates AFCEE's confidence in our ability to provide quality services to their clients in the U.S. and worldwide."
Under its current AFCEE RAC, WESTON has provided environmental services at 29 military installations in 15 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and in remote locations such as Japan, Guam, and Puerto Rico. The ENRAC will enable WESTON to further expand its services in the Pacific Rim.
"We are particularly pleased with this award because it marks our 19th year of continuous successful service to the Air Force. We look forward to adding further value and strengthening that long-standing relationship," stated WESTON Vice President, Peter A. Ciotoli.
Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) commented, "I am delighted that the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence has awarded this contract through an open competition to WESTON. The cleanup of both former and current defense facilities is of vital importance to our role as good stewards of the environment, and WESTON's history shows they are a leader in the remediation effort."
Further, Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA-16) stated, "Roy F. Weston, Inc. has long delivered solid service to its clients. This contract award shows the Air Force believes in WESTON's ability to get an important job done, and done well."
