WESTON Awarded AETC Environmental Services Contract
San Antonio, TX-September 28, 2001 - Roy F. Weston, Inc. today announced the award of a contract with Air Education and Training Command (AETC) to provide architectural and engineering (A&E) environmental study services at Air Force and other Department of Defense (DOD) installations.
WESTON is one of four contractors that will manage four indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contracts with a total gross value of up to $100 million over a 5-year period. The contract work will begin in September 2001.
Under the contract, WESTON will provide nationwide support in a broad range of environmental services centered on the four pillars of Air Force environmental programs: Restoration, Compliance, Pollution Prevention and Natural/Cultural Resources. These services will be concentrated at 13 AETC installations located in the southern U.S., including: Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
Specific support services will include solid and hazardous waste management, air monitoring and permitting, drinking water and wastewater treatment, fuel system operation and maintenance, cultural/natural resources protection, bench/pilot studies, risk assessments, investigations and engineering feasibility studies, remedial design, interim remedial actions, facility operations and maintenance, and UXO support.
In making the announcement, WESTON President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick G. McCann stated, "The Air Education and Training Command is a valuable client. This is an exciting new contract and I welcome the opportunity to support the AETC in its restoration and compliance efforts to modernize installations for the 21st Century."
