WESTON in the News
March 2006
March 1st Named After WESTON Project in Fulton County, GA
To
the residents of Fulton County, Georgia, the first day of March
means more than just the start of a new month and the possibility
that spring is just around the corner.
This year, Commissioner Bill Edwards, Director
of Solid Waste Anthony Spencer, and Assistant Director of Public Works
Richard Coates honored Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®) for its work on landfill contracts
in Fulton County by proclaiming March 1st “Merk/Miles Road Landfill
GCCS Design/Build Team Appreciation Day.”
WESTON’s contributions, commitment,
and success on the Fulton County Landfill contracts were instrumental
in addressing and remediating environmental issues, and in meeting
a Georgia Environmental Protection Division-mandated deadline for
completing a new gas collection and control system (GCCS) for the
Merk/Miles Road Landfill.
WESTON is the first company in the United States to use directional
boring on a landfill site, which helped the team meet strict deadlines
by streamlining the construction of nearly three miles of buried pipe.
Spencer stated, “WESTON had one of the best on-site managers
[Lance Crain] I’ve ever seen! The directional boring technology
was very successful. We will call on WESTON in the future with
problems.”
