WESTON in the News
May/June 2005
Stormwater Magazine Features WESTON in May/June 2005 Issue
WESTON® was featured in Stormwater magazine for playing an instrumental role in identifying the sources of contaminants and reducing high levels of bacteria in the waters of Mission Bay, San Diego, CA, and for co-authoring a report outlining the contamination sources.
WESTON collaborated with the City of San Diego to prepare the “Mission Bay Bacterial Source Identification Study,” featured in the Stormwater article, for the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB).
Mission Bay is a very popular area and is used by millions of people every year for a wide variety of activities, including aquatic recreation. However, potentially harmful levels of bacteria have affected the water quality in some areas of Mission Bay and, as a result, the entire bay has been listed as an impaired water body under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act since 1998.
