WESTON’s GreenGrid® Technology Is Featured in Chester County’s Daily Local News

GreenGrid RoofIn its May 31, 2005 issue, Chester County, Pennsylvania's Daily Local News featured an article outlining developer Rick Ragan’s plans to install a GreenGrid® roof on 43,000 square feet of a 71,000-square foot retail/office complex planned for the north side of Route 30 near Route 352 in Frazer, PA.

Developed by WESTON® and ABC Supply Co., the GreenGrid® system is made up of moveable trays that hold a lightweight growing environment for plants. Green roofs are beneficial to the developer as well as to the environment and the surrounding community.  Essentially rooftop gardens, green roofs conserve energy by reducing heating and cooling costs, offset the “urban heat island” effect often found in densely populated city areas, and absorb rainwater – especially beneficial in rain-prone Chester County.

Rick Ragan, of Ragan Design, is planning the largest project of this kind in southeastern Pennsylvania and WESTON is proud to have in-part developed the system he plans to use.
