WESTON’s ExpenseTrack System Leads to Best Practices at Work

In April 2003, Application Development Trends magazine (www.adtmag.com) published information on the winners and finalists of its 2003 Innovator Awards. WESTON® was profiled as an Application Engineering Finalist for the new ExpenseTrack reporting system which has streamlined our expense reporting process, reduced turnaround times, and saved money while helping us to realize Best Practices in the business and application development environment.

After 9 months of development, WESTON rolled the system out to each member of the company over a 6-month period. Bob Hackett, Applications Director for WESTON and Project Manager for the ExpenseTrack project, stated that, since this system is one of the most-used applications in the company, it had to be viewed from a large number of different perspectives while keeping the user design “Grandma Simple.”  On how ExpenseTrack’s development process benefited WESTON, Hackett said, “We came up with much richer testing standards that we’re reusing for new applications.”

In addition to helping WESTON simplify the expense entry process, realize faster reimbursements, reconcile credit card statements, and provide project managers with information in a timely manner, ExpenseTrack has added a Best Practices element to WESTON’s development processes.
